Renata Amiga Sample Pack #2
A downloadable sample pack
Renata Amiga Sample Pack #2
Deep and open: long notes, the LED filter off, and the top end left in.
200 one-shot samples synthesised by Renata and played back the way an
Amiga plays anything. Paula has no oscillators - it is four channels reading
8-bit bytes out of memory at a rate you set - so nothing here claims to be
"voiced on" it. The instruments were drawn and rendered into 8-bit PCM by
Renata, then played through Paula's period register, its zero-order hold and
its output filter.
Nothing was loaded from a module, a game or a record. Every byte started as
code.
That matters for one practical reason: you can use these commercially without
wondering who owns them.
WHAT YOU GET
Drums 56
Bass 32

---------------
200 WAV files, 44.1 kHz, 16-bit, mono
READY TO WORK WITH
Every pitched sample has its note in the filename, so you know the root before
you load it - no guessing, no tuning by ear.
Every file is peak-normalised to -1 dBFS, DC-corrected and faded at both ends.
Nothing clicks when you trigger it.
Every filename starts with "Renata Amiga Sample Pack 2", so when a sample ends up
in a folder with three hundred others you can still tell where it came from.
WHAT'S IN THIS ONE
For anything that wants space. The notes run long, the LED filter is OFF so
the 8-bit top end is left in, and the drums are deep and slow. This is the
brighter, harsher machine, and the one most people never heard.
Output filter A500 fixed, LED off (the brighter machine)
Bass roots D1 A1 D2 F#2
Lead roots D4 F4 A4 D5
Chord roots D2 A2 D3 A#3
Pluck roots A2 D3 F3 A3
Bass techniques pulse 25, fm, drawn, pulse 12, fall, echo, crunch, slide
Lead techniques square, organ, drawn, fall, echo, detune, rise, triangle
THIS IS ONE OF FIVE
There are five Amiga packs and each is a genuinely different kit - different
root notes, different chip techniques, different drums. No two packs share a
single root note in any category, so the five together cover the keyboard
rather than repeating it. Pack 2 is not pack 1 transposed.
LICENCE
Use them in anything you make - games, videos, tracks, streams, films,
commercial work - for free, forever, in as many projects as you like. Edit
them however you want.
Credit "Samples by Renata - renatachiptune.com" where a credit is possible.
That's asked, not enforced.
The one thing you may not do is resell them as samples - a sample pack, a
sound library, a preset bank or a stock-audio listing. They have to be part of
something you made. Full licence is in the README inside the download.
MADE WITH RENATA
Renata is a chiptune studio - a composer and a set of real chip emulations for
the YM2149, SID, NES, Game Boy and Amiga. renatachiptune.com
