Renata C64 Sample Pack #3

Bright and fast: an 8580 run wide open, the shortest notes of the five.

200 one-shot samples made on a Commodore 64's SID sound chip. Not

recorded off a game, not ripped from a tune, not a neural network's idea of a

chiptune. Every file here was produced by running a real C64 replay

routine into an emulation of the SID and recording what came out of it.

That matters for one practical reason: you can use these commercially without

wondering who owns them.

Every pitched sample has its note in the filename, so you know the root before

you load it - no guessing, no tuning by ear.

Every file is peak-normalised to -1 dBFS, DC-corrected and faded at both ends.

Nothing clicks when you trigger it.

Every filename starts with "Renata C64 Sample Pack 3", so when a sample ends up

in a folder with three hundred others you can still tell where it came from.

WHAT'S IN THIS ONE

The demoscene pack, and the only one on a clean 8580 filter with almost nothing

routed through it. Arpeggios stepping every single frame, leads up in the fifth

octave, and drums cut brutally short - the closed hats are 40 ms and the kicks

land in under a tenth of a second. Chords are major, sus2, lydian and sixths.

For menus, titles, pickups and anything that has to cut through at speed.

There are five C64 packs and each is a genuinely different kit - different

root notes, different chip techniques, different drums. No two packs share a

single root note in any category, so the five together cover the keyboard

rather than repeating it. Pack 3 is not pack 1 transposed.

LICENCE

Use them in anything you make - games, videos, tracks, streams, films,

commercial work - for free, forever, in as many projects as you like. Edit

them however you want.

That's asked, not enforced.

The one thing you may not do is resell them as samples - a sample pack, a

sound library, a preset bank or a stock-audio listing. They have to be part of
